Designations and Certifications

Professional designations* from NARPM® have an impact on your company and your clients—and the results translate directly to the bottom line. NARPM® designations* are earned with a combination of property management experience, NARPM® and industry education, and service to the association through volunteer activities. You may have taken clock-hour courses to maintain your license. Imagine the gains when the courses are specifically focused on what you do as a property manager—and are being taught by a property management professional. Take it one step further and envision networking with other experienced property managers from across the country. Earning your NARPM® designation* will bring a whole new dimension to your daily tasks. *You must be a member of NARPM National in order to be eligible to apply for a NARPM designation or certification.

Why Hire a Residential Management Professional

The National Association of Residential Property Managers has several Designations and Certifications that members can attain.  NARPM Designations are earned with a combination of Property Management Experience, NARPM and industry education, and service to the association through volunteer activities. Residential Management Professionals have completed extensive course work and service projects for NARPM. These individuals demonstrate a strong dedication to the Property Management Industry.

Residential Management Professional Requirements

• ACCOMPLISHED: Manages at least 100 units over a 2 year period
• QUALIFIED: Licensed real estate agent for 2 years (if required by state)
• EDUCATED: Completed 18 hours of NARPM education courses
• RECOMMENDED: Submit letters of recommendation

Why Hire a Master Property Manager

The National Association of Residential Property Managers has several Designations and Certifications that members can attain. NARPM Designations are earned with a combination of Property Management Experience, NARPM and industry education, and service to the association through volunteer activities. Master Property Managers have completed advanced course requirements, and reached the highest levels of achievements for NARPM and their community. The Master Property Manager Designation is the highest designation an individual may achieve in NARPM.

Master Property Manager Requirements

• ACCOMPLISHED: Manages at least 500 units over a 5 year period
• QUALIFIED: Licensed real estate agent for 5 years (if required by state)
• EDUCATED: Completed 24 hours of NARPM education courses
• ADVANCED: Have achieved the RMP® designation
• RECOMMENDED: Submit letters of recommendation

Certified Residential Management Company Requirements

• ACCOMPLISHED: Manages at least 500 units
• ADVANCED: Has a Master Property Manager (MPM) on staff
• APPROVED: Successfully complete an on-site visit from a NARPM® auditor
• Complete the audit process within three years of making application

For Property Managers: RMP® & MPM®

Residential Management Professional (RMP®) and Master Property Manager (MPM®) are the designations residential property owners recognize and seek. Any member or non-member may take the RMP® or MPM® classes. Professional members may seek candidacy for the designations. For Companies: CRMC®

For Support Specialist: CSS®

Certified Support Specialist (CSS®) professionals work in an organization with a NARPM® member who has earned the RMP® or MPM® designation.
